Got a bit stir crazy today, and decided to go down to Pike's Place Market. I hate this place. I really do. It combines my two strongest hatreds: overpriced "artisanal" goods and bus loads of tourists.
However, it was better than sitting on the couch staring at my stupid dog. Enjoy!

You have done very well, David. Take such walks more often.

Nice images David. Looks like you captured some street shooters in the second picture. I'm sure your dog appreciated some "me" time as well.

Hah, I find large distracting watermarks a cliché too
Really though, great pics. Keep them coming.

You are too far away.BTW, dogs are clever. Perhaps your dog is not so stupid after all. I also suggest to make your watermark bigger, to make sure nobody steals your images.

Looks like you picked the right time to avoid the hordes of tourists. Some thoughtful images here, David.

I wonder if the folks who hate tourists (as horde, as annoyance, etc) never, ever go on holiday...

They call themselves "travelers".

Hi,
Anyone would think that there was something wrong with your photo's. Try not to think about it as a cliché but think instead that you are creating classics, popular, well-known or tried and tested photo's.
I'm sure your dog would agree. Did he/she enjoy the extra walk?
Regards, David

Nice photos. I'm not a big fan of Pike Place as a place to photograph people even though there is an abundance of them there. Often it is just too crowded. I much prefer open air farmer's markets like the one in Ballard.

My dog thinks I'm stupid if I sit at home instead of walking with her.

Difficult to photograph their (dogs') expressions too; that 'what are the fools doing now' look is the hardest to catch.
Back to topic, I liked the photo's but I usually do; they let me see some of the world I'd not usually see and through others' eyes.

If you make the watermark big enough, it will block out all relevant subject matter in the images and thieves will look elsewhere. You are too far away.BTW, dogs are clever. Perhaps your dog is not so stupid after all. I also suggest to make your watermark bigger, to make sure nobody steals your images.
And BTW - If you don't like or want the dog, why don't you find him/her a guardian who will like and want him/her?

Some nice shots.
As a side-comment: interesting to see how now watermarks are accepted; over a decade ago people would go into a fit when they'd see them; some still do, but it's not as rabidly as back then. I guess people understand once it (the stealing) happens to them.

I really don't understand why anyone would go out to a place they hate, in order to pursue a style of photography that they view as cliched. It's not a great recipe for worthwhile work. Also, I really, really, really wish people would stop using the word "capture". It's horrible!

Not sure why these pictures were posted if you hate the place and this style of photography???? Am I supposed to appreciate them in spite of your introduction? I think the images are OK on their own- but it's hard to view them without the negative set-up influencing interpretation.
Did I miss sarcasm?
sometimes people think I'm too serious!
