Encouraging Adox / Fotoimpex news

I have just seen some minutes ago over at photrio that Adox has officially also announced that they are working on improved versions of D-76 and XTOL. Will probably be introduced in the coming months. Further very good news, indeed.

Cheers, Jan

Can you post a link to that? I looked on Photrio and on Adox's website and couldn't find anything about improved D-76/Xtol

Since all my dental care is out of pocket (probably true of many here).
I go to a local dentist group that is part of a chain, they have many offices all over the northwest. But they use very modern digital imaging for all x-rays. I use them because the charges are very reasonable for seniors. And they can fit you in on short notice.

More than one dental chain clinic has recently appeared here in upstate New York as well. Not too surprising that newly built facilites would have the most modern equipment.

The dental practice that I visit has five or six suites used for general purpose dental hygiene and x-ray work. Each room has a newish x-ray machine which captures images on film; these machines were a substantial investment.

I expect that my dentist will be content to collect images on film for the rest of her career.

Thanks, Jan, for sharing the news.

I'm encouraged both by the prosperity of this small film company, which proves that film can survive as a niche product, and by the reported increasing market for film.

Indeed. There are two very obvious ways to improve Xtol - addition of another antioxidant would allow the ascorbate to work longer (though it might change the characteristics of dilute Xtol) and removal of the borates which are the remaining environmentally unfriendly component.

D76 can be made more environmentally friendly and less susceptible to pH change immediately following mixing, but its performance is close to optimal for a hydroquinone-metol developer.

Is it already clear when the AdoxMCC110 paper will be available again?

This is what I would also like to know. Hopefully Adox can get their base paper from someone other than Ilford. Getting MC110 and Lupex back in stock is important.

Edit: 1984 posts! I should have written this in Newspeak.

Double Plus Good! Newspeak is now emoji based.

The improvement that Adox is doing on their personnel hiring and capital investments is very encouraging.
