End of digital as we know it or best sensor for RF

Hmmm... it's just a 2 Mpx proof-of concept over a year old and has had no follow-on development announcements? Looks like they are still trying to raise VC funding. While I hope they succeed I'm not going to hold my breath.

Good, bad...it's a thing. For the consumer market, I doubt anyone will care, as long as the image quality is better than the average cell phone camera. So 'good thing' for them, I guess.

For those who want more creative control from their cameras, including doing DOF tricks, then no, that's a bad thing.

But we're not the market drivers. So we may have to suck it up and find other technology that works better for us.

Couldn't that mean 2 times the resolution on the same size chip as well?

One thing is for certain: lens designers will have a more difficult job come the next 10 years keeping up with super-resolute sensors!

Me: Where are we going?

Group: To Planet82!!!

Me: When are we going?

Group: Real Soon!!!

Look...it's nice to hear someone running a potential product up the proverbial flagpole in hope of someone with deep pockets saluting (it better happen while there's still air in the real-estate bubble), but I've seen more than a few Really Good Ideas get kneecapped by an assortment of things, poor timing being merely one of them. Some sort of working prototype would come in really handy, although I realize that might be a tad tricky, given the tiny devices this outfit is targeting as applications for their product.
