Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd share a few shots with my recently-acquired Elmarit-M 28mm F2.8 (version 4) pre-ASPH lens.
I just got back a roll of Portra 400 that I shot on my M6. I love the performance of this lens.
Here's a shot of a one-room schoolhouse.
A kitchen from the early 1900's...
Mediocre (but otherwise OK) sunset shot ... shot using generic drugstore ISO 200 fim, assumed to be a re-branded Fuji product:
Finally, a street-shot done at hyperfocal (F11, I think) using Fuji Superia 400.
I absolutely love this lens! It really sings and brings out the best of all the films I throw at it.
Thanks for looking at my posts.

Agreed, lovely!

Those are a great demonstration of what your lens (and you, as the photographer) are capable of. The interior shots are mind-blowing.
Congrats.

Thank you, everyone -- those are very kind comments.
I continually feel like I have a lot of learning to do when it comes to photography. Although it's an exciting thing for me to add a new lens to my palette, I always feel like it takes me a while to learn the personality of a new lens.
The Elmarit-m 28/2.8 is a very nice lens, it has definitely exceeded my expectations. Super-sharp, nice contrast (but not as contrasty as the ASPH version) ... beautiful color rendition. I highly recommend it.

Really nice shots presented here. I loved my old pre asp. Elmarit, but I sold it. No I have the asph. one and it is even better. A lovely tiny lens.

Love this lens. What does a version 3 run (on avg) nowadays...for future reference?

Congrats! You seem to be able to handle the lens well. It is hard not to fall in love with a wide angle. Unfortunately the 35mm framelines are the best I can see in a 0.72 VF so making a 28mm lens a little difficult to shoot with because I wear glasses.

Love this lens as well. It is almost permanently affixed to my M9.

Over the table V3 about $800 USD and the V4 approx $1200 depending on cond of course. The V4 will go toe-to-toe w/ the APSH except for its 1-stop slower. Nice shots.

No. The Summicron ASPH is one stop faster... not the Elmarit

Yes, but the Elmarit is 1 stop slower!

Wow, that classroom shot is dynamic.
Did you stop down and shoot it with a tripod for more depth of field?

Of the 5 dozen of lenses i had over the last decade or so, the v4 elmarit makes it in my top 3

Nice lens. I love mine too. Very little distortion for a 28mm.

I thought this for a long time, struggling already with the 35 framelines. But on a whim I bought a 28, the 2.8 ASPH. I used my 25/28 finder with it just once I think. Since then I just put it on and forget about the framelines. Sometimes I want to be sure that something is within the frame for sure, and I can reorient my eye, obligatory glasses notwithstanding, and check. I really like it.
