Epon R-D1 3D Printed Grip!

I have been looking for the grip for the R-D1xg but haven't found one for sale on its own for a reasonable price so I printed one out!

I scanned the bottom of the camera, then modeled it after the Voigtlander/Zeiss grips, added some camera leather and voila!

It still needs a bit of tweaking but it works great so far!

Ill post the final .STL file on thingiverse after I get all the minor adjustments done.

3D printing is amazing.
What material did you use for 'printing' the grip?

Just basic PLA for the prototypes. Ill probably print the final in ABS or PET-G for added strength.

Love it! That looks really good. My R-D1 came with a handmade wooden grip, otherwise, I'd be needing to do the same. Grips make the camera so nice to handle

Its one of my old L plate mounting screws.
I was thinking of getting one of these

and recessing the bottom of the grip to make it more streamlined.

Yup but I didnt design it.

It vignettes on FF but works perfectly with the R-D1
