Thanks for the heads-up about this, brightsky! I ordered another battery and some supplies.
Now, if Epson will come across with my "bonus package" — especially the discount on the full Photoshop package — that supposedly expired the day after I ordered my R-D1 on 10/30, I'll not feel too bad about missing out on this offer for the camera. I'm trusting that they want to keep all us early adopters happy and won't worry too much about that expiration date.

I wavered about this all day. Finally gathered my nerve to place my order, but the discount code no longer works. Maybe next year

It just worked for me. 1:03 am tuesday morning???? I got the 4990. Not sure the discount got me close to the lowest prices I've seen but I read some fluky reviews from some of the places with the lowest prices. The discount got me to $382.49 including shipping (which was free). They seem to be around that on the auction site and price watcher had a few a little lower plus shipping. I seem to remember a post that said this could be found for less than $350???? but I couldn't find it for that price... Oh well I'll take it for what I paid.... Thanks for the heads up.

There are some specials on particular items, such as the RX620 printer. It's $199 after two $50 mail in rebates and the 10% coupon mentioned by lotsa can be used with it for another $19.99 off.
Plus, Epson is offering $25 in Epson Rewards (good towards future purchases at Epson's online store) if you spend over $150, excluding tax and shipping.
I am wavering over the R1800 printer. With the Epson discount and free shipping, it's cheaper than B&H. What I should do is stop reading email from Epson.
