I have an Epson 3000 with quadtone inks for my B&W printing. It has recently developed a problem with the print nozzles.

I replaced the standard carts with refillable ones from MIS and since then the nozzle check has been printing with missing and out of place lines on the CMY inks. When I first turn the printer on after a day or two of no use it prints a perfectly fine nozzle check minus one or two lines. I then do a head cleaning to try to clear up those nozzles and it throws the whole thing off. After the cleaning about a thrid of the lines for each color are out of place or missing. I have tried soaking the parking pads in windex (as per the inksupply.com recommendations) and also in denatured alcohol (not both at once) and leaving the print head on the pads overnight, but it has not made a difference. Does anyone know of anything else I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Jared

I'll poke around a bit, but my 3000 hasn't had issues like that, even with the MIS inks (tho I am running OEM again for color layout pantone matching.) Damn thing's a workhorse. Tho I might scrap it and get a new machine soon. If only so I don't have to carry it around again.
