Epson 3880 "No Ink Cartidge" Error

My 3880 reports an error at startup stating "No Ink Cartridge." This occurs even with a full set of OEM cartridges in place.

Online searches have yielded instructions advising resetting the machine as a possible solution. Have done that twice with no change in behavior.

Has anyone had a similar issue and found a solution?

No. But I have found the best forum for printer/ink/paper issues to be on Luminous Landscape. I did a rough “no ink cartridge” search with no results, so one would have to start a new topic. But there is a lot of expertise there.
