Epson GT-X980 (Japanese v8?0 Pro) packaging

I've looked on Amazon US & JP, and can't seem to get a definitive answer on this. America has the V800 & V850. Japan has the GT-X980

1) The V800 and V850 product pages at Amazon seem to be identical other than weight. I know the V850 is supposed to come with an upgraded SilverFast. And one Google link suggested it came with the wet mount accessory but the product page(s) say otherwise. Any clues?

2) What comes in the x980 package? It suggests I buy the film holders to the tune of another 12,000 or so yen, bringing the total package to be about the cost of the V800.

In short, rough prices in or converted to USD:

v800: $650
v850: $900
gt-x980: $550 ($650 w/ holders already in v800?)
Wet mount adaptor: $50 (is this included in anything above)?

Totally confused.

I bought a GT-X970 (the V750 version) and it had everything that the western v750 had. All the film holders and software (Japanese). Be warned, I may be missing something, but on mine when I tried to install using downloaded English software, it would not work. I had to install using the Japanese epson drivers. After I had the japanese software installed, the English Epson Scan program would recongnize the scanner. It wasn't a big issue, just took longer to get set up than normal.

I bought the Epson GT-X830... half the price of the GT-X980 and enough for my needs. Purchased here in Tokyo (Yodobashi) and there was no problem to install the English version using CDs included with the scanner. The PC is an old Win-XP with JP OS that I soft set the interface to English.

Thanks guys. Guess I'm wondering what the heck is in all the boxes. Will probably just shoot and see!

The main thing I'm curious about though is what is the specific item that allows the film to lie (more) flat as it's being scanned? Does this totally eliminate the need for ANR glass?

I'm on a Mac. Never heard of anyone blocking drivers due to language since the 90's... my Mac is technically a Japanese model with the default language and keyboard set to English/US-101. Even so, the Japanese menus pop out every now and again.
