epson ink paper

If you like Matte papers, Epson's Ultra Premium Photo Paper Matte (formerly called Enhanced Matte) and Epson Velvet Fine Art are both beautiful papers for both color and black and white. The Epson Velvet is especially beautiful for exhibition quality prints.

For glossy or semigloss papers, I've never liked Epson's offerings. Ilford Smooth Gloss and Smooth Pearl are both great, but no longer made...Ilford went bankrupt earlier this year.

Of the Epson papers, I mostly use Hot Press Natural and Velvet Fine Art. Both are very high quality papers. (In addition, I print a lot of B&W on Hahnemühle Bamboo, which has a very long toe and a soft warmth to it.)

For glossy in the Epson line, I like the Exhibition Fiber paper. It reminds me of a Kodabromide Rapid F paper that was dried without ferrotyping. There may be better glossy papers, I don't use glossy surface enough to know all the best there.
