Very cool photos.
I too have just acquired this beautiful gem from Paul Huang (the Canon 28mm f/3.5 Serenar) and isn't it a cool lens? So solid, compact, and great mechanical actions. Thanks Paul!!!
I bought this lens with the intention of using it on my R-D1s as a general walk-around lens in daylight (hence, no need for speed).
I will have to look into using it for colour photos more from your first picture.

The lens mates very well with an R-D1, and the color palette is very pleasing, a little more subdued than what you get with more modern lenses. I should stop looking, I'll just end up buying another copy of the lens, although Hung got one in exceptionally good condition

gohaj, wonderful photos, everyone of them. Cheers to our "obsolete" R-D1 and to that sweet Canon you got.

Cheers,
i did not use special settings. Just compensate the exposure where necessary. The exif info is available for those photos. Take a look!

What's the going rate for this lens? There are a couple on eBay right now around $475...seems a bit pricey.

That's definitely too much. Koh's Camera http://www.kohscamera.com/ has a late example in black/chrome listed for $290 with caps. (Koh, BTW, is very honest and reliable, in my experience -- no personal relation or affiliation.)

I bought mine from this forum for $245 (I think).... it was in pristine condition, complete with caps and a 28mm finder and original case.
