Question for the folks who shoot raw on the R-D1: I took a bunch of shots on the "raw+jpeg" setting but when I checked the SD card all I saw were jpeg files (no erf files). Then I tried a few shots on the "raw" (only) setting, but I'm still only seeing jpegs on the SD card. Am I missing something?

As an aside, I put together somewhat similar R-D1 and OMD kits today:

R-D1 + 28/1.9 (42mm eq) + 35/1.4 (52mm) + 50/1.5 (75mm)
OMD + 20/1.7 (40mm) + 25/1.4 (50mm) + 45/1.8 (90mm)

They were actually fairly similar in size, though I think the OMD kit was overall a bit smaller, and certainly lighter with its lightweight lenses.

i looked at the folders on the sd card with both windows explorer and epson photoraw and didnt see any raws.

i should add this is my first time using photoraw so i'm not sure what i'm doing with it, though it seems fairly straightforward to point it at the folder you want it to look at.

I don't shoot jpeg but I use Aperture and a Mac and download from a card reader. The files load straight in to Aperture. Make sure you are using an ap that supports raw. Love my Epson.

going by your description you have the Quality set to jpeg only
so while in the internal menu you set raw only or raw plus jpeg
to get raw out you must set the top clock style dial to "R"
hold the quality / white balance switch on the back upper right of the epson in the "Q" position while turning the selector nob on the top left of the camera to adjust the dial to "R"

hope this helps

keith, i think that's probably the answer, will try in the morning. thanks!!
