I bought my R-D1s from Matsuiyastore and thus the installer CD for the Epson RAW software is in Japanese. Unfortunately I don't speak Japanese. Anyone know of a place where it can be downloaded? I checked Rich Cutler's site but didn't find a working link.

Thanks.

Let us know how you like Epson Raw. I tried Capture ONe, Bibble, Lightroom but each time I went back to Epson Raw. The interface is of another age, but the conversion of the RD1 raw files is the best I have found, especially for B&W

To be honest I didn't think Epson RAW would be worth my time. I'm a big Lightroom / Photoshop user so it seemed redundant. Now, having processed just a few test images, I'm a convert. I look forward to putting it through the paces. Combining Epson RAW, Lightroom and Photoshop could make for a nice mix.

Yes, lightroom corrects automatically hot pixels when loading the picture. Epson Raw doesn't. But they usually only appear at ISO 1600 (and 800 every once in a while).
My workflow is Epson Raw than Lightroom for hot pixels, cropping and dust correction. The other slider I usually don't touch to keep the Epson Raw look.

+1 epson RAW converter. i keep things simple in conversion and then finish in PS. the files don't need much post-processing, imho.
