I have inherited a Epson R2400 inkjet printer from a friend, and for the life of me cannot get the printer to take any paper.

I am just trying to have the printer run through its cleaning test, so I can start printing my own photos. No matter the size or type of paper I put in the top loader, the printer will not catch it to feed. I have put the paper directly into the catch and it will grab it every now and again but it doesn't start to print on the paper, it just runs right through the printer like it is not being recognized. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a method of loading this printer that is eluding me?

I cannot find much online when it comes to how fix this problem, so that is why I am turning to you all!

-Thanks

You may have to clean the rubber rollers and fingers that load the paper. On my R800, dust picked up from the paper will make them too slippery to load heavy photo paper within less than a year.
