Since upgrading to El Capitan, scanning with my Epson V700 (using the Epson scan software which comes with the scanner) has become a painfully slow affair. To scan 20 bw 35mm images at 1200 dpi and 16 bit grayscale is taking me about 40 minutes (without any ICE or any other setting on, not even sharpening). The progress box gives a 'time left' which is totally unreliable (it starts off by showing 11 minutes for 20 pics but then it progresses much more slowly: after 26 minutes it still shows 6 more minutes and it actually completes the job after 40 minutes). With the previous OS it was taking less than half the time and the progress box was actually reliable. Has anybody experienced this?

I think Epson has a patch for this on their site!

I had a lot of drama with my V550 when I upgraded to El Cap. As Keith says, all fixed with a patch on the Epson website
