Yesterday, after figuring out how to actually get the film onto the reels, I put a couple of rolls of ERA 100 through stand development in Rodinal 1:100 in about 600mls of fluid. I was pretty loose about the whole thing and I know that I started off at close to 30degrees Celsius. I know I should have been at 20 but I read that temperature wasn't so important and 30 degrees didn't seem like 50% over at the time. :D But hey, I was worried about it cooling down massively as it was a cold day.

So I agitated for about 20 counts in the first minute and then left the tank alone for another 59 minutes before rinsing out and fixing and hanging up to dry.

I'm using a Plustek Optifilm 7200. I've been scanning into tiffs at 7200 dpi claimed - I'm getting 100-ish mb sized files. I can't seem to get SilverScan to actually apply any of it's settings so I'm getting extremely low contrast scans off the scanner and then adjusting in PS for Levels (Basically 'squishing' everything down and then getting a more reasonable tonal range - I guess).

I apologise in advance for posting non RF photos - it just so happened that I was using an old SLR that I hadn't picked up in years and my last batch of Hexar RF pictures were really crap and they say more about the film (Lucky) and the subject matter than stand developing in Rodinal. I was surprised at how reasonable the tonal range actually turned out. I've had ERA developed at a 'pro lab' in the past and its really come out Black OR White with very little in between.

All shots were wide open (either 50/1.7 or 135/2.8). Aside from not really knowing how to develop properly, scan to get the best or really know how to use PS (oh and focus on the subject) I think they came out quite well. Of course if anyone has any comments feel free to let me know.

Cheers
Tyrone

Brilliant shots! You gotta love the Rodinal 1:100 thing, it amazes me time after time.

Well done here, your SLR sins are forgiven :p
