Erwin Puts: Leica Compendium. (limited edition 2011)

Lots of typos, but more tidbits than typos.

I hope he'll correct those mistakes in the upcoming print and upload an errata for others as well. Would've lot better if the book was available in pdf format. Then we'd be able to buy it at a cheaper price. I hear it's quite a heavy book!

@Kent: Thanks a lot. I'm going to order mine. :)

He mentioned something about this on his site- the previous version had been downloaded many, many times but only a very few people paid him for it. This is his new model.

From his site:

The download version will be password protected. The experience with a free download and a shareware option does not make me optimistic: the LLC has been downloaded more than 50.000 (!) times, but only 25 (!) people paid a contribution.

Lindemanns in Stuttgart announced a second revised edition of Puts´ Leica Compendium in late August. Lindemanns is not only a bookseller but also an editor. Perhaps they took over the edition
Leica Compendium / Erwin Puts Leica Compendium 2., korrigierte und ergänzte Auflage. Houten 2011 Bestell-Nummer: 64161L gebunden, 21 x 29,5 cm Neu : folgt sofort bei Erscheinen (08/2011) ca. EUR 78.00

Mine arrived over the weekend but I just went to pick it up at the PO. Almost as big and heavy as my Cabelas catalog ;)

the typical American teenager who now, because of Twitter, thinks the longest sentence you can write is 140 characters.

Jim B.

Nonsense. I'm sure 15th-century Japanese fuddy-duddies blamed renku poetry for the same thing.

I think Twitter is awesome. And I write novels for a living.

Oh, thanks for that ....I`ll look out for it then.
Good luck ! But it may be that you are to late ;) The first edition of the Leica Compendium was sold out within one and a half week by direct order. The "great" resellers are Lindemanns in Stuttgart (Germany) and LFI in Hamburg (Germany). As far as I know they are sold out. Wait for the second improved + revised edition. It´s 15€ more expensive but IMHO in my opinion it is worth. It is anounced for August 2011. (But I won´t wonder if it will come a little bit later.... (If you are interessted mail to them)

Check my last post. I have pre-ordered it already and paid only the regular price of the first edition. My copy is to be delivered in August 2011. Who told you you it was more expensive?

A) Check my last post. I have pre-ordered it already and paid only the regular price of the first edition. My copy is to be delivered in August 2011. B) Who told you you it was more expensive?
a) Why ????? I answered Michael. The first edition is IMHO sold out at autor and the great distributors.
b) Second : the orignal price was 62.50 € (first edition), Lindemanns sold it for 68.00 €. Second edition price is 78.00 €.
Also 15.00 or 10.00€ more than the original price.

c) If LFI is still selling the second edition for the price of the first....
(good for those who ordered there)

Camerabooks dot com in OR is offering the book for $149, due in August according to their site.
As for his writing style, it doesn't bother me all that much, as I was born in the Netherlands and it fits with what I learned in school.
