I know Jason Eskenazi's "Wonderland" project has popped up in discussion a few times here on RFF, and those of you that own the book know what a treasure it is. Jason is well on his way with his follow-up project, entitled "The Black Garden". Now, I don't necessarily believe in crowd-funding in its current state, but I do believe in Eskenazi as a photographer who works outside of the box and delivers amazing photography. Check it out, even if it's just to watch the video.

The workprints of Black Garden look pretty good in the video.

Thanks for the heads-up!
Also I agree with the above poster, the "mock-up" book with his choice of pictures for the kickstarter project so far looks very promising.
I have nothing but the highest respect for Eskenazi.
(And make sure to check out the "gift" for pledging 30 dollars: that has got to be a first on kickstarter....)
Greetings, Ljós

What exactly 'The Black Garden' means? Apart from the fact that it 'sounds' deep and brooding and cool...

I can't tell you why he chose the title, but the origin is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karabakh#Origins_of_the_nameWhat exactly 'The Black Garden' means? Apart from the fact that it 'sounds' deep and brooding and cool...

a read of de Waal's book of similar title and the words of Eskkenazi himself (follow the link) might hint at the project title origins.

That was inspiring, I was ready to buy Wonderland but he's not shipping until September. Hmmm maybe Title Nation instead?

I discovered him and Wonderland by fluke when I was browsing Lightstalkers, and bought Wonderland on faith more or less (that the chat wasn't just his friends pushing the book). It's an outstanding book.
