Me too, bought mine new for $2200 when I was in high school, but sadly it needs repair that costs more than its worth. 🙁

IMO, it's only a "deal" if you sell it for a good profit, or put it to good use. Otherwise it's a "waste"

The repair mine needs is the aperture stop down lever of the camera body, just inside the mirror box on the left hand side as you look into the mirror box, doesn't move when the shutter is fired. All shots are taken with lens wide open even with the lens set to a smaller aperture. What's wrong with yours, Chris?

sadly, not a billingham ~ did a lot of online digging ~ seems it's the banana republic correspondent's bag made by a company called brady

still a decent bag

don't quote me, but i've seen threads about "brady" fishing bags which are famous in their own right, and look very much like billingham bags. maybe one is a spin-off of the other???

anyhow, great find. to my knowledge, estate sales are not so well organized/published in germany.

Mine has an electronic fault. When the mode dial is set to single shot mode, it sometimes fires off a burst at 5 frames per second as long as you hold the button down. I was told it was probably just a dirty electronic connection in the switch but would cost $250 to take the top cover off and clean it. No thanks.

Damn. You are a bad, bad, bad influence. I followed that link and found a sale tomorrow that claims to have "15,000 jazz records" and they all appear to be vinyl. The good news is that it is farther away than I want to drive, especially good since they do take credit cards. The mileage is the best aid for me to resist temptation. Imagine, Blake, me telling my wife that I bought 15,000 records based on YOUR suggestion.
