(p71 The Photo Book)

WOW.

So I'm making a habit of looking through this book a few nights a week, picking a nice photo at random and reading up on all related photographers. It's an attempt to humble myself and give me some inspiration or a kick up the ass to take better and better photo's.

Anyway, Im looking at this photo, and I'm thinking how perfect it is. The background sinks away with a great soft effect, the Gelatin Silver Print gives awesome tone, and the pose is classic.

1947, that has to be a 6x9 folder or a 35mm rangefinder, right?

I'm thinking it's something around f/5 or maybe f/8. must be at least 1/30 or 1/20 considering the motion in the photo. But it's SO crisp!! The photograph really does have character.

Anyone know what cameras Bubley used? Whether she had a preference?
