I received a letter from Eurocolor Gera (the Fujifilm lab for Germany and adjacent countries) today. As of 1. Nov. they will issue no more new mailer envelopes. Old envelopes will continue to be honoured, and film mailed in without envelope will be billed according to their existing professional price structure. That is, it boils down to a termination of their (more affordable) consumer service.

Why bother? It's a non event.

I can get the Fuji Eurocolor E6 processing via Rossmann drugstore much more easily, and even a bit cheaper because there are no mailing costs.

Eurocolors mail envelope system has always been a third choice, other labs are doing it better / more comfortable.
For example Photostudio 13:
- register there, get a "Kundennummer"
- they will send you mailing envelops in which you can put more then ten films
- choose their alternative paying by "Bankeinzug", then you pay 3 - 4 weeks after you get your films back and you will even get 3% Skonto
- turn around time is much faster, only two days
- quality is better, "Hängermaschinenentwicklung" and better two-bath fixing for best archival stability
- excellent customer service, very friendly and helpful staff

There are more than 45 professional labs for E6 in Germany, and most of them are accepting send-in films via mail.
Enough alternatives.
Photostudio 13 is only one example of a (better) alternative to Eurocolor pre-paid envelops.

Cheers, Jan
