Again, this is not the offical voting yet, we are just gathering input.

Please note that we have a total of 10 opinions in so far. At this speed, it will be difficult to decide on any city and weekend before summer...

I am kind of torn between
(a) having a poll right now (in order to get things moving and give people a chance to secure some low fares) and
(b) waiting a bit more for more people to notice this thread...

We have a quite busy scheduled time in the next months and we cannot make sure to be in (I say we because my wife travels with me). Anyway if there is any possibility it will be for Lisbon or Hedelberg.

The poll will cause some further attention. Therefore I think option (a) is a good idea.
 
I believe so as well. Also setting the date soon enough is quite important for organising and ticket buying...
Ps hello stefan, was wondering where did you got stuck. Also miss some other people in this conversations.
 
OK, we will try that then. I have added a poll to this thread giving a choice of all cities that have received any votes so far.
I have not made it multiple choice (for reasons of fairness), so please state your favorite only.

I love Vienna, and Lisbon sounds very attractive, but I don't think many people are being inspired by any of the choices presented so far.

What about Rome? Or something a little bit more exotic, like Copenhagen? Yes, it's exotic compared to Paris, Prague, Rome, Lisbon, Barcelona...I believe Copenhagen is far cleaner, the people definitely not in your face and wanting you to go back quickly because you're just another tourist. And possibly more lively that Bruges (or Dublin, if you don't count the Pub scene). And surely English is spoken by far more people.

I appreciate your thoughts, but we are running pretty late already, and I wanted to get this off the starting block.

When I started the actual poll, there had been no voices for either Rome or Copenhagen, so I did not include them in the poll, sorry.

So, would your vote be Rome or Copenhagen?
 
It's almost a tie between Lisbon (8 votes) and Heidelberg (7 votes), so please put in more votes if you are thinking of going and have not voted yet...
 
So far we have 32 votes, but still almost a tie between the two leading options, Lisbon and Heidelberg.

I do think we should close this poll by the end of the month in order to give people enough time for planning their travel.

So, if you have not voted, please do so now.
This also applies to the "when" poll, which has reveived only 19 votes so far.

How about creating a new poll from only the top 2-3 choices from here, and give it a definitive run-time.
Same thing for the `When' poll.

That's what I am thinking of doing, actually. But we should give people some more days to finish this one.

Because we are almost tied with respect to both place and time, I was thinking of giving 4 options for a combined where/when poll:
  • Lisbon on 2/3 May
  • Lisbon on 30/31 May
  • Heidelberg on 2/3 May
  • Heidelberg on 30/31 May
The disadvantage is that it will take some more time to fill the new poll with life, judging from the slow going so far...

Better do it sooner rather than later.
The leads probably will stay being the leads whether this poll is `finished' or not.
