i've performed my normal routine of doing my thing here and visiting a host of other forums today/tonight.
some times it's all i can do not to scream.
there are some fools and asses out there.
cretins who pontificate without a shred of evidence.
i could recite a litany of stupidity...and blatent lies.
some 'person' is telling all who will listen that rff is going digital and that all the film users are running to another site and causing trouble.
and he also dislikes strongly how i moderate, having no trouble spreading his word.
and the 'gospel' about how cameras are made and the quality control or lack thereof.
these people should be on the plains mooing with their more intelligent brethren.
i think i need a break or at least a good night's sleep...

Haha, yes...I was just complaining about that. Then again, the person you're talking about has obviously never moderated or admin'd a forum before in his life. It pisses me off.
BTW, he actually PM'd me this, which pissed me off even more: "Why don't you go over there and tell Joe to stay away from APUG? He should be content to be the fascist ******* of RFF - he has no purpose here."
That **** has NO purpose at all and it makes me sick. I've modded some interesting forums in my time, but that is the most childish thing I've ever seen said by a grown adult.

I just ponder opening an invitation only forum and populating it with people I know won't be total asses. I'm still thinking of doing that. A place to share work in an invironment with other mature adults...sounds like a good plan to me.

Hmm? (holds nose and peeks in at apug) Oh, just those two. Hard for me to take either of them too seriously, though I did once think reasonably about one of them. I'm just wondering why people think that they should be able to get away with things when rules say they can't because 'it's just the internet'. That's why I don't let that excuse slide. It doesn't matter that it's all just 1's and 0's as output; there are people behind those words on your screen.

The petty squables between the forums (due to people being banned and then moving to the OTHER forum) are none of my concern and shouldn't have to be...but when someone knocks Joe for doing his JOB I'm going to stand up and say that they're wrong. BTW, I'm guessing I'll get banned from APUG soon. Frank G, whom I'm sure we all remember, has posted what Joe and I said. Course, I stand by mine and have no problem with it because what was said was uncalled for and rude.
I'm just tired of the internet politics thing in general. I'm tired of having to justify why I do something. I'm tired of getting crap for asking legitimate questions. I'm tired of people getting **** on because they're doing their job. I'm just tired.

Honestly, you shouldn't worry about it. It doesn't look like any of their opinions carry much weight over there, nor do their transparently obvious grudges with other sites seem to be of intrest the majority of A.P.U.G. members.
Left to their own devices, they will discredit themselves. There is nothing to be gained by being drawn into their mire. They are some other Moderators nightmare now.

I come to forums to chat about equipment, share ideas, comment on things and even have fun!
I have no interest in trying to FORCE people to take my point of view, as some do. And to be honest I can't understand WHY someone would want to ?- what do they achieve by it? Can't they agree to disagree?
That said - I can choose to avoid taking part in some of the pointless (to me ) arguements on here and other forums - Mods can't - and so Back Alley I understand your frustration. But remember, without your and other mods intervention forums would quickly be taken over and likely ruined by those with the loudest voices.

There seems to be a problem on the Internet where people who are anti-social loudmounths post rafts of useless banter, thinking they have a following. It's not like the real world, where we can just walk away from them. And these cross-forum quoting arguements show me who the anti-social or immature are really fast. While I don't know the folks involved here, I've seen it elsewhere, and it's getting tiresome.

Yes, and of course there are good and bad in every bunch. Some have not liked the fact the way RFF is run, and well, that is their right, and they are elsewhere. I like to think that we are all here because we have been able to get past the thrill of personal attacks and egos to discuss our narrow topic of interest.
Rant away, please do try to keep this (this thread) from being a place to bash people or other forums. I don't think that will do any good or be productive in any way.

Not so new now.
I stopped visiting some forums because people were aruing over things they knew nothing about. Their heartfelt opinions changed as their favorite news/blog site released new information.
