EVF Accessory Viewfinder for EP-1? Happy now?

I'm highly skeptical. Why wouldn't they introduce it with the E-P1? I mean, the lesser accessories (leather jacket, strap) were announced without any delivery dates in sight.

And, of course, this is the same Web site that a few days ago said the Pany LX4/LX5 announcement was imminent.

:bang: Yeah, the leather case and strap are WAY more complicated to design and manufacture than a simple EVF. :bang:

What is the definition of imminent? What is the sound of one hand ...

Everything this site has rated as a sure thing or likely, as far as I can tell, has happened. They only give those ratings to things that come from multiple known sources with inside info.

One of two options is highly likely here: this is either true, or Olympus is taking a page from the Apple playbook and planting false flags to smoke out leakers.

just a thought... if this is true then it would be nice for those who already bought an E-P1 so they do not have to buy another body just to get the EVF. OR at least that's what Olympus wants us to think so people will buy it now with that idea in mind (instead of waiting for a newer m43 body, from a different manufacturer etc...)

Get out of my mind!

I do hope this turns out to be true. An add-on EVF could make the E-P1 my primary camera.

BTW, I'm not agreeing that it's true, or that the site has a good track record. I'm just sayin', never say never, keep hope alive, yadda, yadda. With enough electronics in the auxiliary finder, all you need to do is communicate bits at a high enough rate to make it useable. It may be an actual product that doesn't work all that well. Until v2.0.

Who needs an EVF while you have a 3' screen :)

... 3" screen with resolution on a 2" one made 5 years ago, not impressive at all! I wonder now much they will milk the EVF. The optical one cost $100, so I am guessing it will at least be $300.

Panasonic G1 on the other hand already has EVF integrated in addition to the double resolution articulated screen. It only cost around 600 with the kit lens.

Optical viewfinder or NOTHING! AAAAAGHHHHH!!!!

I agree in the sense that the separate EVF will help is if you are using the zoom lens, or perhaps with manual focusing. Otherwise I think using the camera with a prime scale focusing with or without a CV viewfinder is the way to go.
