This completes my 'blad lens set. Now I have them all, the entire series, all the same general vintage.

The 500mm C Zeiss Tele-Tessar. Serial number is 4242215, can anybody help me date this?

I have been looking for a good one, at a decent price, for the last few years, without success. The shutter seems perfect and very snappy, glass is clean.

This is the third one I've bought (two were sent back), this one is a keeper.

and you shoot DBL X, you must be friends with Tom A!!!!

oh yeah that 500mm is a beauty.

Thanks Fireboy. TomA is a friend here at RFF. XX Rocks!

Here is my new one, on the Hasselblad Gunstock. Getting the Release Adapter was the hardest part of this set to find. After searching several years for one, I finally bought one from Cambridge Camera 😱😱😱

Luckily it arrived without incident.

This rig reminds me of the James Bond movie "The Living Daylights". Except, his Hasselblad fired high-caliber sniper bullets 😎

Nice, but I really think a sturdy tripod is a better idea... I would recommend a Manfrotto support for long lenses - this is how I shoot my long lenses on the Blad, when I use the Mutar 2x.

Nice! Congrats. 🙂

Thanks! 😀

I'm going to try and get out and use it during this long holiday weekend, if it isn't rainin' and stormin'.

I've got plenty of tripods, and use 'em, too. This Gunstock is quite interesting as part of my collection.

It was built in 1967.

I'd write D E L T A, vertically down the barrel. I don't think the gunstock would work out too well in NYC.

The only fault with it is the dark screen (f8)... I have friend birder that ditched his hassy kit for the Rollei (most lenses the same, except for the f5.6 500mm).

I bought a chrome 250mm from keh BGN for $133 a couple months ago. It's my only "C" lens but it is wonderful. Zeiss does not disappoint. Very nice focal length; it does need a tripod most of the time. I thought I'd try it at that price and get a CF if I liked it. Funny thing is that I actually like the C lenses a bit more than the CF. I do like the forged steel and EV lock kookiness of them, too.

I'd like to spend a day with that 500mm. Good luck with it.

Charlie

I heard that this is the one that says "don't use at politcal rallies" in the user guide.

Hah-Hah! That is true. I'm sure at the very least, the SWAT cops would be checking me out!

Actually I'm thinking of taking this to our local zoo, if the weather cooperates during this nice holiday weekend. So far, it's been very dark and cloudy. Try and get some of those wildlife shots, like in the old Hasselblad brochures.

Funny that this should come along today.
Just last night a friend dropped by. Together the two of managed to carry his new acquisition upstairs to my apartmant. An RB67 with his new 500mm/8.0 attached. Holy Hubbel Batman! What a gorgeous beast it is. It almst makes me want to mortgage the homestead for the Pentax 6x7 600mm lens.
Enjoy! Show us the pictures!
