Exactol Lux, Beutlers, Defender 777 questions

I have ordered some Beutlers, Exactol Lux, and Harvey's Defender 777 (backordered) from the Photographer's Formulary. This happens every couple of years as I get the urge to explore different soups. I know Tom A. and others use Beutlers in metal tanks and reels. Anyone on RFF using these in rotary tubes (e.g. Jobo)? Any hints, warnings, horror stories -- regardless of developing method?

My regular developer these days is either Xtol or a phenidone/vitamin C developer based on Patrick Gainer's formula.

Beutler is a rasor sharp developer and with edge effect with high acutance. Like Rodinal , Beutler need no too much agitation because this has a direct influence on the edge effect.

I am using Jobo developer tanks but in this Heiland TAS processor:

I know from experience that rotary development (CPE/CPA/CPP) is killing the edge effect with these developers. So Beutler is not recommended in a rotary Jobo development.

About 777 I know it's an ultra fine grain developer like Microdol-X. I am using CG512 (U. Raffay) and Windisch W665 (based on Ortho Phenylene Diamine). These are more populair overhere in Europe (German type developers).
About CG512 and W665 you CAN do rotary development without disadvantages.

Here an example of the Beutler with Efke 25. IMO a very good combination. Look at the stones in the mill. You can count them. Very high acutance. By printing it on 40x50cm it's a problem to find grain with the Peak focusser.

The next picture is the same mill and shot (M7+Summarit 2,5/75mm) with the Advanced Technical Pan (ATP1.1) film from Rollei.
On request I tested the film in Rodinal 1+150. It's possible to tame the high C.I. of this film however you have speed loss. Nominal box speed: iso 32, in Rodinal: iso 12-15.
You can see also the difference of the acutance. High resolution (400ln/mm) but less acutance then the Beutler developer. The Efke 25 can handle approx. 200ln/mm.
