I live in NYC and stumbled across an amazing deal on an M6 classic and tri Elmar 28-35-50. At a camera store called Alkit which is pratically across the street from the Tamarkin NY showroom. The M6 is in what I would call Mint- condition. It seems barely used at all. a few tiny scuffs on the top plate. I bought a 50 Summicron for well below market value practically new (sold to the store with the camera) but didn't want the body or other lens. The Lens is in the same condition with caps and hood. There are no Boxes.

Silver M6 Classic: $1250
28-35-50 tri-elmar: $1699

This equiptment is a bargain at least so I thought I'd pass it along here, it wont last long as its in the window, but if you call them they can probably ship it to you.

I dont know if I would really go calling that a bargain, especially not when you go and add NYC sales tax to it. I havent been following M6 prices but it seems there are plenty of ebay opportinuties hovering around $1100 ish to get into a decent M6. Of course being able to inspect and all that is worth the extra money, but $1250 is about what Id expect to pay for an M6 in nice shape from a private seller.

I was seriously considering an M6 Classic for a while and if it's truly and PERFECTLY mint that's a pretty good price, not a screaming deal, but not bad, otherwise with patience I found them in the $950-$1100 range in fairly good condition.

Having recently purchased my first M6 I am rather up on what retail stores in NYC have been selling their M6's for. The condition that it was in was worth the post.

Im a ny'er as well and you are absolutely correct about what stores in NYC sell them for, however that shouldnt reflect what they sell for on planet earth as a whole. I actually got to handle the camera today, its super nice indeed.

cheers.
