Well, yes and no.
The Instax Wide 210 and 300 give reasonable / good results.
But the potential of the Instax films is much bigger.

So yes, with better cameras (= better lenses and more control options and features for the user) we could indeed make much better instax photos. At least technically better photos ;).

The back was bought from the lomography site. They go out of stock very quickly.
The Mamiya Universals go for quite cheap on eBay from time to time. I have 4 of them, 2 of them were bought as parts only and 2 were bought for less than $30 USD each. They're big and chunky but very easy to work with.

Some folks have used the 210 model and removed the lens and used a large format lens with helical. Probably not any more expensive, depending on what lens you use.

Yep those universals are great cameras. I own most of the lenses including the 50, 75, and 100 F2.8.

But that lomo back needs to be modified in order to fit. It won't fit by default. Did you modify it yourself?

Yeah, Its not too difficult but a bit involved. Luckily the bel-air back is big enough to rest flush on the back of the MUP.
It just requires a belt sander and a piece of ground glass fit into a instax cartridge.
Grind down the back of the belair back so it sits flush with the Mamiya and then check the image through the ground glass. A bit a trial and error to get the film plane distance right but its pretty straight forward.

The instax mini back is even easier to do. No grinding was necessary. I'll take a photo of it tonight when I get off work.

A friend recently gave me a Polaroid Spectra that was in great shape. I bought some of the Impossible Polaroid B&W and was really pleased with the results. I'm planning on getting more and start shooting it. The integral films have a unique look that I e started to appreciate. I have a couple of Polaroid 600 series and a SX70 that I need to shoot.

I really hate that Fuji discontinued the peel apart film. Both their color and B&W were quite good. Perhaps they'll bring it back one day. Funny how we don't appreciate things until they're gone.

Now give us a Wide Mobile Printer with better Wifi than my Mini

Love my SP-2 printer/camera I can do "B&W" with my color packs ;)

I am surely purchasing some of this to try.
