I just wanted to drop a note here about my experience with Harrison Cameras in the UK (http://www.harrisoncameras.net).

I bought a Contax T from them, and after running 2 rolls of film through it, I was sure it had a fault and returned it. They inspected it and it turns out it was due to the wrong batteries in it, which they supplied. They apologised and offer a refund, almost 30 days after purchase, even though the camera itself was not faulty as such.

I think this is outstanding service, and they were friendly throughout. I don't hesitate to recommend them, and will certainly be buying from them again.

I bought my first Leica (M4-P) from them in 1990 and several other bits and pieces since, including a new M6. I'm not sure about the current status but they were a family run firm with an excellent reputation. Easily the most friendly and knowledgeable sales staff I've ever met in a camera shop, with a remarkable way of talking you into buying something! I remember a family outing about 20 years ago just to have a look at what secondhand kit they had in stock (for myself) and my Mother coming out with a brand new Contax T2 and my Father with a set of Zeiss binoculars!! I haven't been in for a while but it's reassuring to hear that they're just as good as ever.

They hold the distinction of being he only camera shop in the UK where I managed to find Kodak Royal-X Pan film (in 1985!) and I think I tried most!

No connection by the way but a trip to Sheffield isn't complete without a visit to London Road!
