Experience with Nikon DG-1 Finder Magnifier

I'm not familiar with a DG-1, but I d have a DG-2 2x magnifier, which I have used on an R-D1S as well as various Nikon SLR and DSLR bodies. It DOES help with fine focusing on the center of the image. However, it impedes composition since you obviously will not see the whole frame.

I hardly ever use mine anymore, so if you're interested, PM me.

Keith - did you try it with a 90mm?

Could one compose well with the magnifier and a 90mm lens?

Resurrecting yet another dead thread, but I have been looking at the DG-2 and the Megapearls 1.3Nx by Japan Exposures but I am not really fond of making my 35mm framelines hard to see on a eyepiece that doesn't flip out of the way so I can get FF view for composition. That being said, my question is...

With the DG-2, is the focusing patch at 35mm framelines visible? I know question might be weirdly worded as the focusing patch doesn't move on the RD-1 but it is the framelines that move diagonally (thanks 'rxdm' for reminding me of this) but I shoot wide open at wide apertures a lot so I wanted something that made focusing a bit easier.

Any takers on this?
