I just read that some M9 users use wifi sd cards. I am using my m9 and m9m on weddings and getting back-up copies during the shoot would be perfect. Could use an Ipad to receive back-up files. Would give me an alternative for a second card slot.
I read that the metal baseplate limits reach but if it really would work within 3 mtrs than it might be possible to have an Ipad in a bag while shooting. Maybe its possible to modify baseplate. (any plastic baseplates available?)
Can users please join their experiences. Does it really work?! Is it reliable? No banding issues or whatever? Which cards seem to work?

Toshiba flashair card (v3) worked fine with m8.
Only jpegs no dng/raw. You have it right about the baseplate.
Range is an issue with the leica.
I use these in all my older cameras.
In the 5Dii and Fuji xe1, transfer range is much better than the m8 was.
At this point, I no longer have the m8.
Good luck!

Hi Andy,
Thank you for reply. Could you give me an estimate of the range the Toshiba air (V3) had with you m8? So if i would shoot raw + Jpeg it would know how to transfer the jpegs?

I've used Eye-Fi card for this purpose on M8. perhaps metal body limits the reach of wifi, but keeping devices next to each other is enough. it transfers only jpegs.

Could you tell me which card you used? And do you need to shoot just jpegs to have them transferred or can you shoot Raw+Jpeg and let card just transfer the jpegs? Any idea how close the distance should be to get the transfer working.

The M240 has a plastic "window" in the baseplate for the purpose. You could pick up a used baseplate on eBay or one of the forums' buy and sell and DIY the same.I just read that some M9 users use wifi sd cards. Eye fi is done.... finished. I used those as well.
They were nica until support ended now they are useless ;(
I’ve always had the phone in my hand and the camera on the table in front of me or my lap.
One still has to connect to wifi and choose images from rhe device.
Eye-fi had a way to auto transfer but it only kept up for a few images.
With the Toshiba one must browse the images and transfer.
It’s functional and certainly better nothing but far from elegant.
Please pardon typos... on my phone and don’t jave my glasses

I just found a reasonable priced Eye fi pro 32gb card. Seems that it is not supported by apple OS11 anymore but will try to make it work with an older Ipad that runs on os10. I hear it is the only card that also transfers raw files. We'll see what happens. Will report here on my findings once i had some time to work with it.
If that doesn't work i can always check out Toshiba air w-03 system.
More experiences and maybe detailed feedback on how to set up a eye fi or toshiba system is still appreciated

Sry missed your question. Regardless if you shoot only jpeg or raw+jpeg, card transfer only jpegs.
On Android latest app is quite horrible, I've used earlier one that they luckily still keep in app store.

Eye-fi is done. I would not waste money on them.
I used to prefer them but they dropped support for one card and then another..... why bother.
They don't work better and they do cost more than the Toshiba card.
