A friend of mine gave me a couple rolls of Kodak Gold 200 that had expired nine and a half years ago, so I loaded one of them into an Olympus XA4, and hit the road looking for new vistas.
The camera, which has a vignetting 28mm f3.5 zone focusing lens, goes for the middle when presented with a highly contrasting scene, so the shadows were too dark and the highlights blown out at the same time. You also capture more on the film than what is inside the bright frame lines of the viewfinder. Easy enough fix in PS Elements 10. I also got the hang of doing the macro.
Here are some samples.

ps: You'll have to pardon all the run-together titles, it is not of my doing. Something in the RFF software is getting awfully aggressive compressing spaces out of the posts.

Nice! I shoot with expired film all the time.

Did you shoot at box speed, Phil? I have had good luck shooting expired 200 Gold at 100.

The camera has the DX feature with no manual override, Mike. I figured it would be a good test to see how much degradation it had just in case I decided to shoot the second roll.

I believe if you put tape over the contacts it will default to 100.

Doesn't it have manual ISO settings from 25-1600 for non-DX films, just like the XA3?

Yes, the same range too. I was thinking it would be easier to tape the film canister instead. I've got some old Kodak surveillance film to shoot as Redscale that might look better in the Oly than it does in my Canon Sure Shot Auto II.
