I may be able get a few rolls of the film for around $8 each. If anyone in the US is interested, I'll pick some up when I have a chance and send it to you at cost. It is several years out of date! PM me if interested...

Here is a sample...

A very sincere public Thank you! to Gary. The film arrived and I hope to be using it by the weekend.

Not quite as good a deal, but I posted in the film "Deals" thread that filmsbooks.com is selling 100ft. rolls of Pan F+ for $29.99 each. I bought a couple.
Oh, and this, I believe is NOT expired film.

I just visited the FilmsBooks web page. Found the Ilford Pan F+ listing. Reading the fine print...

Description:

ILFORD PAN F Plus is an extremely fine grain black and white film. It has outstanding resolution, sharpness and edge contrast. These characteristics make it the natural choice where fine detail and lack of grain are more important than film speed. Mural size enlargements from PAN F Plus negatives show an outstanding range of tone and detail when the film is carefully exposed and processed. PAN F Plus is compatible with all major processing systems, including those which give the standard short fixing and washing times.

Features:

• ISO 50/18° BLACK AND WHITE PROFESSIONAL FILM FOR HIGH PRINT QUALITY AND FLEXIBILITY IN USE

• Dated 2004-2005.

Be careful!

Wayne, thanks for the diligence. Sorry guys, I completely overlooked that part. Feel a bit foolish....all that excitement !
SO, (now that I have bought some), should I expect the film to be ok ? any different from "fresh" stock ? Is there some safety in that it is slooow film ?

When I was in high school in 1995 I shot through about 10 rolls of PanF (no plus, and in really nice snap caps) that was stashed in my parent's fridge. Also a bulk roll of Plus-X that was dated 1977. Both emulsions worked fine at the rated speeds. If it's been stored properly, I think you won't have any problem with 3 year old film.

Agreed. 2005 film is some of my newest! I'm working through a box of 4x5 HP5+ (400) that expired around 1999 or 2000 and it's fine. You are correct. Beyond a few years, slow film ages better than fast film.
