Hmmm. In Aperture mode. Exposure lock as I understand (and had been using it) was to press shutter release button half way, hold until light came on above exposure number, reframe and shoot. Now, no matter how long I hold shutter release half way I never get a light to come on above exposure speed. Only thing I can recall doing was changing the EV to +2/3, but changed it back and that diddn't fix problem. Did I accidentaly change something or has a brain cell that held the right info disappeared? Thanks for the help.

1: does the lock itself work? Easy to test with a lamp - lock and recompose, and listen for the shutter speed...

2: are you sure you apply enough pressure? I feel that I need to push quite firmly on my M8...

Thanks aniMal, I think you hit on it. I just put on a Match Technical Bip and now have no problem. I think the Bip gives some sort of extra leverage or feeling(?). Anyway, thank you, all is good.

Good to hear! I was out today with my M7, and I kind of noticed that some pressure is required for locking the AE...

Other than that it is just a great camera! It is extremely quiet, and the strange thing that I enjoy the silence of the shutter even when it is not needed. Something with really concentrating on the moment I think; it helps in seeing exactly what movement is happening during the exposure... I think this is the best film M that I have ever used, strange that I should say that after using M2/3/4/6-es!
