Hi,

OK, I can see the annoyance of it not being 99% as described but it really depends on what you are going to do with it.

Stick it unused to die a slow death in a display cabinet and I don't think the base plate will matter as it will never be seen.

Use it and what does it matter? You'll add a scratch or two or more to it very soon...

Years ago, a dealer showed me an M3 that he said was "mint". Actually, allowing for his tone of voice, he said something more like "Mint!!!"

He was notorious for his poor eyesight and generally relaxed attitude to honesty. When I pointed out that it had a big scratch on the base-plate and a smaller one on the top, he said, "Well, apart from that, it's mint..."

Maybe the extra four hundred dollars added to the price is for the "natural bloom" of the lens.

Someone's smoking really GOOD drugs there!

Punched out flash sync on the front and the camera's a mess, $100 (I'll be generous) that's the price it's worth for parts.....or total rebuild for a Black Paint camera.
