Hi,

I have the opportunity of acquiring a goggled 35mm summaron and wanted to find out from those who have tried them, if it makes it easier to see the framelines, does it leave much room around the edges on an M2 or M4?

Also is the camera clumsy to use that way?

Thanks!

Well you know of course that the goggled Summaron was designed for the M3, but it does work quite well on the M2 thru M6, and yes the framelines are easier to see if you are wearing glasses. They make the camera a bit heavier to hang around your neck but do not make it "clumsy" in use.

My opinion of course.

For sure the goggled lenses are less pleasing than goggle-less lenses, but I think the Summaron is worth putting up with a little extra weight and bulk.

If you have an M2 or 4 don't bother with the goggles, just take em off. I've got an M3 so I gots ta put em on 😛

Correct. Without the goggles the focus will not be correct. I experienced that with a summilux 35.
On a M3 you have to have the goggles. It will work an any other camera, but it doesn't make the VF much clearer. If possible I'd try to find one without the goggles. But you should try for yourself off course.
