Hi, I was considering getting an R2A to shoot primarily 35mm and I was wondering if I'd be able to see the 35 framelines since I wear eyeglasses.

The reason I'm asking is that I have an R3A and I can't see the full 40 framelines there with my glasses on. My plan is to shoot the longer lenses on the R3A and to get a second body for the 35. (And I never shoot wider than 35). So, will the R2A work for me, or should I wait for the R4A? (Or just save up for a ZI which I'm also considering.)

p.s. I have an external 35 viewfinder, but I'm not wild about using it.

Thanks,

I'm using my R3a without glasses even for 50, because i don't see them... and I don't have some gargantuan glasses... (normal -1,25 both eyes)... I'm thinking of ordering diopter correction because focusing is harder without glasses, cause I'm unsure is it the blur or misfocus. :)

As I understand you could see 35 with glasses... it depends on glasses, but if you see 50 alright than everything should be ok.

...but all things considered I would wait for R4a, you could get gas attack for something wider :)

I found no problem in viewing the 35mm frameline as I always have my glasses on. Don't worry though I noticed problems arisen for R3 series in this forum.

I suppose it depends on your individuual situation, but I always use corrective diopters on my cameras. There is never an issue with seeing frames.

I have an r2a and wear glasses (-1.5), I find that I have to look around to see the edges sometimes but can see the top and bottom ok, the 50mm lines are a lot more comfortable for me but 35 is not bad.

I didn't have any problems seeing the 35mm frame on my R2A. What I had problems with was seeing the meter LED's. If I didn't have my eye in just the right spot, they weren't visible.

Thanks for all of the feedback, it's very helpful.

I also tend to worry about scratching up my eyeglasses every time I press them flush up against a viewfinder. So, I think I'll have to take that into consideration too.
