just upgrade to film, and a Hexar RF. I happen to have a Hexar RF (This is superior to an M7 in every possible way) with Hexanon 50/2 lens, and will throw in a CLA'd M4P for your M8 as-is.

I'll trade a mint M7 (which uses film, 110% better than digital), an excellent M3 DS, PLUS a mint 50mm DR Summicron, for anyone's flawed, crummy, unfixable M8.

Any dentist, wannabe Cartier-Bresson, disappointed hobbyist, shocked person who feels betrayed by Leica, outraged consumer, person who feels his world is coming to an end, profligate spender who feels gypped out of $5000, person who believes advertising brochures claiming that a product is "perfect", here is your chance to get out of this morass.

Please take advantage of my foolish gullibility at wishing to trade old lamps for new.

Transfer your terrible problem to me, and walk away with TWO superior film Leicas AND a wonderful German lens.

This is a serious offer, PM me.

The older M3, having been made in Wetzlar by dedicated mystics, imparts a far more luminous "Leica Glow" to the film than the bowlderized, Solms-made M7, which only gives images a "half glow".

Of course, either camera will immediately lock up and refuse to operate if a shameful Japanese M mount lens is placed on it. There is a secret Luftwaffe designed embedded sensor in these old Leicas, a factory secret.

However, both of these cameras are FAR better than the terrible, ruinous M8. Before your photography world crumbles around you, cast off that M8 and send to me as soon as possible, since I am an easily-led, gullible fool who has no idea what he's doing. Hurry while there is still time to correct your grievious purchase error, since Leica will soon be out of business thanks to their supreme arrogance at releasing this flawed M8 and there will be NO production M-digitals thanks to noble truth seeking forum posters worldwide.

Good Plasmat. Stick it to 'em!
Give me my M8 and I'll put up with a little magenta and 'banding' with bright light sources. My R-D1s already does that and it wasn't the end of the world.

I have an even better offer, and one that will keep you in pixels. Do not be lured by the siren song of old "technology" ... film is dead! Have you seen any new film images from HCB lately? I didn't think so!

No, I will make a most generous offer. Send me an M8 and I will send you not one ... not two ... but THREE Fed digital rangefinders in exchange! But wait, there's more ... for every Leica lens accompanying your M8, I will send a classic, highly sought and ebay-rare lens from glorious, superior Soviet collective!

All promises will be fulfilled in the end, I'm sure. In the meantime we can use film.

Hey thanks Trius

Hey thanks Trius

That reminds me, I have a mint Zorki 4K to throw in my offer!!

Go check the barns photos in my blog, the barns all had black synthetics somewhere, imagine if you tried to photograph these with an m8!!

Notwithstanding I guess no one can deny that the new Leica M8 is the undisputed best small frame rangefinder in its price class.
