Faces to names

This is the only self-portrait I have at this point. I took it for the bathroom series but it will have to do here. I will work on a better one.

Well, I was gonna just change my avatar to one that showed my face a bit better, but by the time this thread dies I would probably change it again, so here are 2 that I rotate as avatars sometimes. The one on the (bottom) is one I had taken shortly after I turned the big 4-0, which was {profanity} several years ago as you can probably tell from the style. It was at one of those shopping mall portrait places, and the one on the (top) is a fairly recent self-portrait that I took after getting the baptism by fire in camera repair. :)

Did anyone else notice that Bill Mattock just deleted all of his posts today?

My fault, I fear. I asked him (politely) to tone down the gun waving in his posts to my Faces to Names thread. We have asked others to tone down their USA bashing, so I asked him to be fair and tone down his militarism. He signed off one post with Bill, happiness is a warm machinegun, Mattock. I began my PM to him with "Bill, you know I love you but..."

I'm in Magritte mode in my Gallery. And my Ugly American mode, in the desert above Death Valley, near Trona.

Well, I don't know if it has anything to do with matters, but FWIW, it is IS Veterans' Day tomorrow here in the States, Frank. I suppose that stirs up some sentiments.

Bill's OK. I think he has a particular frame of mind that's common in American men. There's an idealistic component to it, I'm almost there myself. I don't think there's much difference between him and me. The bigger gap in American politics involves our sweeping religious mania and one party's determination to deny the right of privacy.

thats me standing! ;)

not a self portrait, thats my aunt with my g1.

Man, I should have been more sensitive about the timing! I'm a jerk. Sorry Bill!

Bill deleted his avatar and added "Outta here" under his name. Check his profile.
I hope he comes back. This reminds me of the situation with Roman several weeks ago. Both were very active on the forum until something set them off. :( In some respects, I think they needed a reason to cut back on their RFF activity. You know how addictive it can be at times. :D

I guess I do have a picture of me... a rare event as I usually try to avoid being in front of the camera.

This photo was taken by my buddy Meredith in 2004 at the annual Federal Reserve dinner/dance... after the evening was well along, I'd misplaced my tie and jacket, and had consumed large amounts of Captain Morgan and Coke :D

I look pretty much the same now.

ok, time to end this conversation and get back on track, to the topic of this thread.

no one has done anything 'wrong' i just do not want to talk about bill, or frank or anyone and what the possible motives for anything might be.

it's remembrance day tomorrow here in canada, the u.s. is at war and this is a forum dedicated to rf photography and gear.

Here is a photo of me. It isn't a self portrait, nor was it taken with a rangefinder or even film for that matter, but I will add it anyway.

It was taken by my friends 8yo daughter last weekend with my 300D. She is a pretty good photographer who with some practice will become great. Plus she is one of my favourite models, along with her sister and brothers.
