Failures in the electronic world

Reading this report on the luminous-landscape brings to light the reality that electronic cameras will fail when you need them most. The only smart guy who had film had his luggage lost and only 3 rolls of film with him 🙂

This makes me think that photography can be an expensive passion, but so much worthwhile, and sometimes, rewarding!

Probably with the cost of this trip, a lot of people couldn't afford to buy a completely new kit for such a journey.
My ideal camera would be a Leica R with a complete set of lenses but who could afford that. I'd probably settle on my Pentax spotmatic with its complete set of lenses and a whole lot of slide film. I'd only take a rangefinder to shoot fellow travellers and other shots in the ship's close quarters. That'd be nice for the scrapbook. I'd still take my DSLR, though, and use it till it failed.

Murphy's still going strong, but there is hope, only what can got wrong will go wrong and if it doesn't go wrong it would have been better it did 🙂

Most accidents on the road when it snows involves SUV's and other 4x4's. I think this follows the same logic.
