I was thinking about the deleted thread. I did not see it, but...
I would choose Canon 7 as King, Leica M3 as Queen, Nikon SP as Bishop, Retina IIIS as Rook, and Contax IIIa as Castle. The Canonet QL17's would be Pawns. Chess Anyone? I get Black...
EDIT: If there were Princesses in Chess, They would obviously be the Canon P.

Jeeez - Where can you get $1400 for a kidney, I want a Canon P and it looks like they are going to be up that high before I find one. (I have 2 kidneys and use them every couple of hours all night long, maybe with only one I could last four hours)JohnM said:I don't know what that guy had to buy his wife for their anniversary, but he should have sold a kidney before the M3. Two kidneys, one M3 - pretty easy call if you ask me!

Peter Dechert quoted Jim Mckeown in Peters fine book "Your Canon is worth whatever your most generous prospective purchaser is willing to pay. If you cannot find a purchaser .it is worth nothing"( Just replace Canon With Leica ) ....although i would still think it is worth a bit to the owner ,if only as a fine piece of image making machinery as there ever was.

there is a very nice p on ebay now.
be patient and you should find a nice one for 300 or so. maybe a bit more if you're less patient.
how do you spell this kind of patient? is this correct or someone who sees a doctor?

The Argus C44 would be the Jester. That Lens Mount!

How many is enough?
The guy who's selling the M3 (in the aforementioned photo.net thread) is completely full of cr@p, IMO. My B.S. detector went off and the meter almost went off the scale! (Maybe I have the sensitivity set too high, I dunno!)
1.- He received an "unexpected bill" with regard to his 10th anniversary?! What, he didn't see it coming? What did he think, she'd have thrown him out long before their 10th?
2.- Sherry Krauter "hand picked" this M3 just for him! What does she do with other people, machine-pick the bodies? Maybe a chimpanzee picks them for other people?
3.- She hand-picked this one because "she knows what I like". Puhleeze! What is he trying to say, that he's an experienced Leicaphile? A collector? If that is true, then I wonder just what is wrong with this special, hand-picked M3 that he's dumping it so fast? And don't remind me that he's selling it because of his unexpected bill for his anniversary....
