Looking to sell one of my 35mm cameras. Have an OM2 that was CLA'd by John @ Camtech about a year ago. In excellent shape, just missing the motor drive cover (damn part is $16 so I've used a piece of tape instead). No clue what a fair asking price is though -- any suggestions? Prices can be all over the place and not sure how much a CLA really adds to the value.

That $16 part will add more than that to the price of the camera. I saw one at John's site about a year ago for $200. I have seen them locally for less than a hundred. How pretty is yours?

Bay prices have plumetted recently. I figure with John's work it is worth about $125-$150 if it is pretty, but e prepared for the market to disagree.

I wanted to stick an ad on here before ebay since I know a lot of guys around these parts enjoy them. Guess I should suck it up and get the MD cap first eh? And yeah, it's relatively pretty
Had the prism replaced when John serviced it too, so it's great to shoot with. Unfortunately I just don't have time and if I do shoot film it tends to be larger formats... thanks!

I got my OM2n for £20 - but i am a cheapskate
(I tried to get it for a tenner)
Prices seem to be under £80 (approx $110?) now from shops in the UK if that helps, but a recent CLA should add to that.

The best camera is one that still works!
I paid around $55.00 USD for my very clean and fully functional OM-2 with the basic 50mm lens just over a year ago from an eBay seller. I guess realistically the CLA may make it worth $100.00 or so if you produce the receipt for a buyer.
For such a good camera they don't seem to command particularly high prices.

cmedin,
I know your pain. I had an Nikon FTn Apollo CLAed for way too much ($175) and was not able to sell it here or on Evil bay for close to $200. The market has been very soft on great cameras for over a year and the fire sale seems to have started perhaps six months ago.
The only advice I have is to find a 35/2.8 for her and give it away for Birthday/Graduation to a nice/nephew/wife.
I'd pick up a cover or a winder that works to throw on.

Wow, looks like local prices here (Singapore) are crazy high then. People are still selling OM2's for around US$200-400.
