with the cashback, this seems to be a good price.

I don't know if the price is fair, but if I had the $$ I could hardly resist pushing that buy-it-now button. For manual camera oriented Leica fans, this is would be a dream to own - GO FOR IT!!

Yeah it's at 8%. I did a quick scan of Leica O's on eBay and this camera seems to be reasonably priced, if not a bargain for what it is.

I have no clue about this cash back bit, but if I had the money I'd have already bought it. I'd love to be able to run film through that kind of gadget

Two or three months ago, I would have snapped this up without hesitation. Unfortunately, my current financial situation wouldn't allow it. What a beauty of a camera!

Isn't the finder on backwards in the ebay picture?

I take it the case really adds to the cameras value? Or is a usability thing?
After my last post, I pulled up the Pacific Rim website & was looking at their Leica C page wondering just how much one of those ~8,000 cameras would go for these days in beat-up user condition. Too much, I'm sure, for someone who just wants to burn film...

You know a cosmetically excellent Leica I, II or III + an Elmar + a Dag CLA with new curtains can easily total $600-$700 - seen in this context, the O is reasonably priced

I am sure you can find a vintage case or Luigi can make you one. This is a good price if you are going ot use it. I would just attach a wrist strap to the bottom plate socket.

Oh, to be sure, that was one of the things I was trying to get at. Now, I personally don't need a "cosmetically excellent" camera (but that is just me). Even with that consideration, a usable early Leica, lens & CLA from a known good technician is going to be more than someone like me can afford.
In the end, that's just it - that O is priced fine. I'm just a frustrated little geek who can't afford it!!! <LOL> :bang::bang::bang:

for the price, I might skip this one and keep looking for a IIIf rdst with a leicavit and 50/3.5. that's my dream kit...

I wouldn't. I have no interest in replicas, however well-build and Leica-made it may be. This is just a modern copy of a classic camera. Something to put in a display case. Like a photocopy of a high valued collectable stamp. It fits in Leica's recent policy to produce umpff versions of the M6, gold, platinum, with all kinds of inscriptions, Royal weddings, Bhumibols, etc. It doesn't have anything to do with photography.
