RFF Member's First Book is an Amazon Best Seller
Austin-based photographer DAVID LYKES KEENAN's first book entitled FAIR WITNESS: Street Photography for the 21st Century was released in March 2015. He conducted a successful Kickstarter campaign in July 2014 which led to the book's publication by the Italian publisher Damiani Editore of Bologna, Italy.
Within a month of its March 24th release, FAIR WITNESS has risen to be the #1 new release on Amazon for black and white photography books.
FAIR WITNESS consists of 70 black and white photograph-s taken between 2004 and 2010 in various locations including Austin and New York City. Keenan's work and book have received the support of Leica Camera, Eli Reed, Elliott Erwitt, Mary Ellen Mark, and many other important figures of contemporary photography.
Of Keenan's photography, Roy Flukinger, Curator of Photography at the Harry Ransom Center in Austin says, "Dave's contemporary vision is on par with many of the greatest street photographers of the past century."
Keenan is a former Austin software entrepreneur who returned full-time to his boyhood photographic roots in 2006. His nearly 30-year-old software business still thrives without him as Keenan explores his new life with a camera. Keenan was the founder of the Austin Center for Photography in 2009. He now splits time between Austin and New York City.
FAIR WITNESS is available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, local bookstores, and signed copies directly from Keenan's web site. The publisher price is $45.
