There's also an "Elephant & Castle" on the corner of Yonge & Gerrard that may be an option. Not too much further than where Jan suggested and on the way down to Yonge/Dundas square.

Jan and Joe have met before?

Anyone (like myself) who can't make the Saturday meet, is welcome on Thursday evening to join Joe, Jack, and myself, for or after dinner, in the downtown area. Please respond here in this thread so we can plan it out.
 
I'll take note of where you're meeting on Thursday evening, Frank, but it's not likely I'll make it. If I can, I'll just show up.

From going to a few flickr meets, two names I'll throw out for now: the Cadillac Lounge, & the Bedford Academy. Both of these have good patios, but are in Parkdale and the Annex, respectively. Jack and Jan may be able to comment on Betty's. I don't know if the Madison has a patio; been there, but at night for indoor ski club meetings. It's a huge place.

Jan, is Hair of the Dog high end? The (lukewarm) on-line reviews seemed to suggest that. E&C is ok; I don't know that location.

I would guess we'd like a patio, though the forecast isn't for summery weather. Dry, but temps in the upper teens.
 
As the kids on the Internet say "I am teh disappoint" - I hope you guys have a great time and I look forward to PHOTOS of this momentous event :)

jan was in edmonton and we met up for walk on whyte avenue...
 
Any place I can get to by walking or TTC is fine, Frank. My last movie for the day ends about 5 or so at Richmond and John. If we're meeting much later, I would probably head back to my office near King and Yonge for a while, before meeting you and Joe.
 
I can't make dinner on Thursday. But Saturday is wide open. E&C on Yonge would be interesting. Is anyone else available?

I got a note from Gene Wilburn asking me to keep him updated on the get together. I'm hopeful he can make it. I'm not sure about him coming into Toronto for a dinner date tho. Usually he is on a 4.00 pm westbound train departing from Union Station.
 
i recently chatted with gene over at flickr...it would be great to meet him also.

next trip i will plan around an already established meet...
 
i'm still contemplating what gear to take. i have a strong impulse to just take the x100 and keep things simple and light.
or maybe just add the rd1 with the 40 also.

no idea where...waitng for the locals to choose.
