Guesses proven.
If any famous photographers want to post there names to this thread, feel free to.
Otherwise, I figure all the famous ones that come here want to remain anonymous.

Nowadays every second guy that has more or less decent camera, more or less consider himself being a photographer) It's OK - reality...
Yes indeed, reality sucks especially when you project your own insecurity on to others.

In my honest opinion, I don't think there is a 'famous' photographer who posts on RFF. I believe this because they've got their vibe long sorted out, there are far more important matters to their work than what lens is sharper than such and such or long threads about a rumor.
Although I do learn bits and bits here at RFF, quite frankly I find all this talk deconstructive to good photography, because that is all it is, talk.
The only thread which I believe holds great value here is "Camera Work". However, is is good to have a forum where questions can be asked because no photographer starts out famous do they?

OK, sounds rational and well thought respond. Actually, I share your thoughts. I think this thread helped me to find out something. The fact that famous guys aren't involved here doesn't make this site any worse or less interesting. Sometimes it's nice to come here in the morning with a cup of coffee and to spend a half an hour or even more reading about equipment or, even more interesting, opening links with interesting interviews....

I know that we had at one time a certain celebrity who was also a camera buff.
I've also suspected that a certain formerly-regular poster here was in real life somewhat of a celebrity as well.

I just wonder how many famous I mean internationally recognized photographers post or read forums on RANGEFINDERFORUM.COM If you know any - would be nice to know their nicknames, if there is none - I would like to hear from you why is that?
I can't even *name* more than a few "internationally recognized photographers" that I truly care about.
... but there are several people here on RFF that I would love to shake hand, have a coffee/tea/beer and talk to.

Yeah, that was pretty embarrassing.

A feeding frenzy of disbelief and insults. Not RFFs finest moment(s).

Yeah... I think that's important. Over the last 30 years I have in fact met a modest number of 'internationally famous photographers'. Some, I've enjoyed talking to/drinking with. Some are nice people, but way more obsessive than I'm entirely comfortable with. Some are plain dull, or at least, we don't speak the same language (metaphoricallly). So unless I want to be a clinging nerd/fan, I'm not sure I care that much. Same applies to the more or less famous writers or inventors or businessmen that I've met. How much time did I spend discussing camera repair with Marty Forscher? Not all that much, out of a good few happy hours.
Cheers,
R.
