I want to be able to use the fastest B&W film with my Yashica GSN's meter(1000asa). Does anyone have any suggestions & examples?

Thanks in advance,
Brad

Use any faster film and just make the film think you're underexposing the film. The Canonet has this same problem (ISO 800 max), so there are a few threads that you might find interesting if you search for them.

I don't have a Yashica, but my understanding is they are all aperture priority only, and the under-exposure light only warns you to hold the camera steady as the shutter is firing at slower than 1/30th. If that's the case, I don't think there is a way to expose at less than 1000 EI, short of recalibrating the meter.

The Canonet has full manual operation, which allows the shooter to use whatever speed they desire.

If you shoot faster film than 1000 say 1600, doesn't that mean the film will be overexposed by 2/3 stop? Anyway I shoot fuji neopan 1600 at 1000 on my Contax T all the time, so far I develop as for 1600 and it seems to come out fine I might try and pull the film a bit some time.
