If it's any comfort to the NYC vicinity folks, my friend was told by Harry it would be a minimum of 3 months before he can look at his TeleRollei. He called Krimar several times with no reply. After telling him of my experience of him "LOSING MY 3.5 Type 2 Planar, he forgo even thinking of Krimar forever.
I suggested Paul Ebel and also Nippon Camera Clinic. He choose Nippon Camera CLinic as they a CLA on his TeleRollei in 2 weeks. Paul was on vacation....
He is happy with Nippon Camera Clinic and will resort to them for future repairs.
Just my two cents here. I would stick with Paul Ebel or Harry Fleenor. Just a note here: if the lenses require any re-polishing or re-coating, both would disassemble the lens to be send to Focal Point.

I am having the same experience. I am leaving the country in a few weeks and I just can't wait 3 months for Mr Fleenor, despite his reputation for great work. Does anyone have experience with Garland Camera in Texas? Thank you for your feedback.

Unless I am wrong in what I see, a Rolleiwide has an F type WLF. Those are designed to be user replaceable focus screens, and are extremely easy to replace yourself w/ no special skills or tools.

Don't forget that our very own forum member Dan Daniels may also be available for diagnosis and repair of Rolleiflex. Dan is in the SF Bay area. (Hope you don't mind Dan.) I would not send my Rollei to the more famous Ca repairman again. When his associate forgot to replace a light shield, I was told by the repairman use it as an "inside" camera..I persevered and found three missing parts upon disassembly. They were installed at my insistence, and no apology was ever offered. I paid for the shipping also. No, not again.

Hi Robert (topaz)- Thanks for the plug. Although my building was sold in San Francisco and I decided that I'd had enough of the new SF Gold Rush atmosphere. So I am now a Vermonter, Burlington to be precise. Going from 4 million person metropolitan area to a 60,000 metropolitan area has its benefits- e.g., no traffic most of the time. And its drawbacks- this place is white as can be, and be sure to get your fill of Mexican food in California because, well, even the organic local-source taquiera burrito tastes like tortilla Bell!
Sorry that SoCal didn't work out well for you. I hope this was a one-off and not a new pattern. The Rollei world needs the best to remain available.

I just picked up my Rolleiflex 3.5E (Planar) from Cameraworks in Latham NY. The shop is a 45-60 drive for me and if/when I can combine a visit there with other business in the area, I carry my camera to the shop Cameraworks is primarily a mail-in shop with a walk-in counter open three days a week; they work on many other mechanicals beyond Rolleis, Leicas, and Nikons.
My Rollei is an eBay purchase of unknown service history. Everything mechanical was operational on the camera, slow shutter speeds (marginally) included, but the camera clearly felt, in my hands, to need lubrication and cleaning. The viewfinder was (really fuzzy) dirty and the meter was erratic. It was time for some expert attention/TLC before I took it anywhere that matters.
I pleased with the results. The camera mechanicals function (noticeably) more smoothly, the viewfinder is clear and free of fuzz, and the meter is fully operational. Looks like the leather was touched up a bit and polished.
The turnaround time was 3 1/2 weeks; the shop had three Rolleis in for work with mine and did them all at once. My cost was USD110 for the "standard service" for a Rollei. I'm guessing that if one is really in a rush the shop will be accomodating if you let them know.
Some time ago, Cameraworks serviced a Rollei 2.8F (Planar) for me (sticky shutter on that particular jewel), and I was quite happy with the work then.
I declare the usual disclaimers of no personal/financial interest here; just pleased that I have a nearby shop to have my cameras serviced.

The last Rollei I took to Krikor came back with not 100% and he said it would be too much work to go back and correct it. I should live with it. I had two other Rollei's done by him years ago. Seems like his drive to do a good job is lacking.
I'd recommend Nippon Camera in NY for an east coast repair place.
