Faulty GA645 flash

I recently acquired this camera, and while it delivers lovely negatives and positives, there's one big fault. The flash always fires, no matter if it's popped down or up! Only in Program stand when there's enough light it will not fire. The flash obviously shouldn't fire when closed, as it burns the plastic underneath.. How do I fix this?

I also have this camera. If I were you, I would contact Fujifilm support. Even though my camera was out of warranty, I contacted them about a problem I was having and they were very helpful. Often, we forget that our gear makers do try to help us, even with out-of-warranty products.

Fuji USA has a fixed cost repair service - it's like $200. They go through everything. Worth it.

Any news on this? My just purchased GA645 does the same thing. You didn't trade yours into Adorama, did you?
