Not a competition, but here are my five personal favorites from the past 7 days (in no particular order):

Great perspective and depth of field, from Todd:

Well, just couldn't leave this one out from Gene:

A lot of other good shots out there...

Anyone else want to list their 7-day favorites? 🙂

Great selection Richard, and your 'weekly thread' helps me finding shots that 'go down' too quickly on the main gallery page !

Here they go:

#1 By Swann, a great composition

#2 Great portrait by Todd
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/1981

#3 Another lovely portrait from Brian

#4 Don't forget this one by Hoppinghippos
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/1994

#5 And from our new Canon P owner... great captured duality

And... so many more I had to left out ! Argh ! John Cusack was right in High Fidelity when he claims it's REALLY HARD to choose ONLY your 5 favs !

BTW these are my 5 favs between the pics Richard didn't choose, he's got some favorites of mine also ! 🙂

Your #2 and #5 were close runner ups to my list as well 🙂

This is a great idea, makes me look for ones I've missed as well. The gallery really flies these days, here are my five:

For shear creatvity in a selfy, Swanns: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/2108/password//sort/1/cat/last7/page/1

For producing an atmospheric portrait, Richards: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/2101/password//sort/1/cat/last7/page/1

For color and contrast, Swanns: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/2081/password//sort/1/cat/last7/page/1

For color and texture, Genes: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/pho...photo/1970/password//sort/1/cat/last7/page/10

This one by far is my favorite of all time, and I still could not tell you why. It's a good example of how an image can stir something in you, well at least in me. To top it off it was taken with a camera that probably cost less than the film I bought last week. Vladheds: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/2074/password//sort/1/cat/last7/page/4

All the images I see in the gallery teach me something about myself and my skills, it's a great learning tool and this is a great way to us it.

Wow! Thanks for the comments on the pic of my youngest. She spins the most intricate stories about this imaginary friend and her friend's family and pets, and often I'll find the two of them having tea together. I was determined to get a shot of this for posterity, quickly grabbed the camera and knocked off two shots (wasn't sure of the exposure). The angle was (fortunately) forced by the fact she had placed the table in front of a book shelf.

My picks are:

Richard's is the best mood:

Todd is certainly showing his versatility with the graphic:

...and the classic environmental portait:

backalley's "backwards glance"

modsoul: reminds me of a comfortably drunk night out on the town 🙂

http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/2074/password//sort/1/cat/last7/page/2

- Outdoors & Nature: Rocky Tarn by thejazzguy
